Security Advertising: The Extras

When you are in search of a quality home security system, you are sure to run into a very large number of security ads. It is very important for you to know what a quality offer is and what equipment would be most beneficial for you and your family.

Firstly, let’s take a look at the different equipment options. We will begin with the basics and then look at some additional features that you may want to incorporate into your package.

The bare minimum package should include the following equipment:

  1. Window monitors
  2. Door monitors
  3. Control keypad
  4. indoor sounding alarms
  5. Two-way voice panel

If the piece of security advertising you are looking at is not at least offering the above listed equipment, then it is time to leave them by the wayside. This equipment is absolutely necessary in any home or business security system in order to render it effectively protective.

Some Extras to Consider

If you live in a very large home, have a large business building, or just like to have all the amenities then considering a CCTV security system may be a good call. Most companies do not include CCTV packages in their security ads so you may have to do a bit of digging in order to discover the details, pricing, etc.

The traditional CCTV package will come with the following equipment:

  1. 4,8, or 16 security cameras

This will depend on the size of the facility being secured as well as your     preference.

  1. A Television Monitor

This allows you to see what your video cameras see. It is best to set this up in a      central location or have it where it can be easily accessed.

  1. A Digital Video Recorder

This allows you to record the activity that is seen by your cameras.

Don’t Be Fooled

If you see security advertising that offers all of this for “$12.95 per month” then chances are it’s a scam. Equipment like this is expensive and rightfully so. However, it is worth the investment when it is human lives that are on the line.
