Marketing to the Small or Large Business
The most important thing that you can do for your business is to market the right products to the right people. For instance, if you sell street bikes, you are not going send mailers out to a retirement community for your upcoming blowout sale.
The same rule applies to security ads. If you are marketing to businesses, why would you ever consider sending them ads that are telling how wonderful your home security systems are? This is ludicrous! Yeah, yeah; I understand that most businessmen have families at home but what I don’t understand is why you wouldn’t send home security ads to their home and business security ads to their business.
So, my number 1 tip when it comes to security advertising is GET YOUR ADS STRAIGHT.
When marketing to a business, there are 2 products that you want to emphasize in your ads.
- Security Cameras
This is the highest selling product among business owners. If you do not market this technology when advertising to business owners you are missing a huge money making opportunity. Business owners LOVE to be able to have “all seeing” eyes monitoring their employees.
They also love to feel secure knowing that if someone breaks into their office they can see every move that person made.
- Entry Management
We have already established that business owners love to feel in control of everything that happens in their office. What better way to give them this sense of empowerment than an entry management system.
I once worked at an office that had an excellent entry management system. Every door required a security code and fingerprint verification. This really allowed the owner to have a small network of people that had access to his office.
The point of this story is to let you know that if you do not market this piece of security to business owners like my previous boss, you are, again, missing a HUGE selling point.
In summation, I would like to re-emphasize that in order to run effective security ads, it is VITAL that you market the correct products and services to the correct target! Do this and succeed, don’t do this and watch your competition take your would be business.
